Personally, I’ve been in the recruiting business for over 16 years now. One thing I can say is that it’s definitely tough, and it isn’t getting any easier.

The demand for talent from hiring companies is going up, while the sales industry is becoming a more difficult profession. Also, selling dynamics have changed a lot.

Companies may think they have the upper hand, but candidates who can demonstrate their value actually have a lot of leverage due to the shortage of good sales talent.


Recruitment is about looking at things objectively to make sure there is alignment between the goals of the candidate and the hiring company.


As a recruiter, it’s my job to facilitate and make sure there’s an objective alignment between companies and candidates. Despite the difficulties, though, it’s a lot of fun helping companies find the right fit.
